About Us
I’m Chip Thwing and I write the Digital Camera Notebook. The Digital Camera Notebook is a diary of my experiences and challenges as I make the switch from film to the world of digital photography.
My background (and passion) is in the fine arts where my concentration has been in painting, drawing, film and photography. My work has been shown in a variety of group exhibitions.
Today, I make my living in web marketing, an area which combines a bit of creativity with a somewhat steadier source of income. While I’d love to devote more of my time to the fine arts, I’ve found that it takes a great deal of time and complete dedication in order to develop a truly expressive body of work. Photography provides me with much more freedom in my pursuit of personal interests and lifestyle.
The Digital Camera Notebook will be an interesting and entertaining look into some of the challenges I’ve faced as I try to keep pace with constant change in the digital photography world.
Join me in the weeks, months and possibly years as I continue my pursuits. I’ll talk about the technologies, the art behind that great photograph and other challenges and opportunities associated with digital photography.
